Description Tabs

Description
Locality:
Palermo 1 Mine, Grafton County, New Hampshire, United States of America
Class:
Crystals on Matrix
Size Range:
Small cabinet (7-10 cm)
Size:
8.6 × 4.4 × 6.5 cm
Description

You are bidding on a large and very rich, complex sample from the Palermo Mine. A section of scorzalite bearing quartz pegmatite hosts a large vug and several smaller ones with exceptional clusters of goedkenite crystals growing in twinned aggregates on very slender prisms of palermoite. The goedkenite crystals have completely covered the palermoite prisms. There are at least 15 of these clusters on the sample. The main vug also hosts very large white whitlockite crystals to 1cm in size with prisms of eosphorite and platy aggregates of goyazite and other species. Very rich sample from the Robert Whitmore collection and nearly impossible to photograph for me because of the matrix size.
