Description

For almost a decade this deposit is producing one of the World's most diverse parageneses known in the mineral market. This is because of granite intrusion under the carbonate rocks that produced rich skarn mineralization. The most famous from this locality are doubly terminated ilvaite crystals, twisted arsenopyrite, porcelain white scheelite, doubly terminated green quartz and calcite crystals. In addition to these, the locality occasionally produces fine fluorite crystals in diverse forms and colors.

This specimen is developed as a perfect floater, dominated by a 5 cm large pale purple fluorite crystal perched on white dolomite matrix. The crystal is complete all around. Its form is cubooctahedral with wide rhombic dodecahedral faces showing deep corrosion that gives the specimen an additional appeal when backlit. Dolomite is pericline white, spotted with black clinochlore. To make the specimen even more attractive, there is one smaller fluorite and tiny yellow calcite crystals on the back side of the matrix. A well balanced specimen from the famous Inner Mongolian locality.
