Description

In the 90's, this locality produced fine goshenite-cassiterite-scheelite specimens but now they are rare to see. Combination specimens were always exceptionally rare. For some reason one could find only goshenite on mica, or lustrous cassiterite on mica, or attractive orange scheelite, but almost never their combinations. I remember hunting down a combination of goshenite with scheelite and it came to my hands by sheer luck after several years of scrutinizing thousands of specimens that were freshly brought by Chinese dealers.

This specimen comes from my collection as a combination of cassiterite and goshenite. It is a complete floater covered by muscovite all around. The dominating mineral here is cassiterite on the left side of the specimen, associated by tiny clear goshenite crystals nearby. The specimen stands well in many orientations and has a decent size.
