Description

The specimen comes from the legendary Podojstršek pocket that produced the finest wulfenite specimens of the Mežica mine in 1960'. This is one of the better wulfenites from this new find. It is a complete floater of white limestone almost completely encrusted in wulfenite crystals. The crystals have a jagged bipyramidal habit with translucent basal section, typical for the Helena mine.

The best specimens of this new find are now exhibited in the Mežica Museum. They were collected by the author of the monograph on the Mežica Mine minerals, Dr. Aleksander Rečnik (Bode Verlag 2010), Dr. Georg Kandutsch and the team of local miners. See the book cover page after the specimen photographs.

The book is included and signed by the author free of charge.
