Description

Here you can see a display specimen from the very first range. The attribute first-class rarely has to be used, but is more than appropriate here. The specimen contains four (!) type minerals of first-class quality. Phuralumite and ranunculite should be particularly emphasized here. Both minerals are excellently formed. Phuralumite forms glassy lemon-yellow elongated crystals and ranunculite shows typically formed strong yellow spherical aggregates. Both minerals are very richly represented in two adjacent crystalline areas. Both areas together measure around 5 by 3 centimeters. Accompanying minerals are light yellow scaly moreauite and vanmeerscheite. Top specimen of high quality, considerable specimen size and provenience.

It comes with a handwritten collection label that mentions the minerals on it.

From the collection of Luc VANDENBERGHE, longtime mindat member and famous Belgian u-mineral collector. Specimen of a very well-kept collection.

Mr. Vandenberghe has documented this specimen in his collection archive as “Probably the world’s finest specimen”.

Before the specimen came into the Vandenberghe collection, it was in the Belgian collection of Leopold van Wambeke.
