A nice example of kunzite from the recent finds at the Oceanview Mine in Pala, California. This specimen is from the Big Kahuna zone. This find and the more recent find at the Pala Chief, are sure to be remembered as some of the greatest spodumene discoveries of all time. This example is very sharply terminated, which is unusual for the Big Kahuna zone material. The coloration is a light lilac hue. Some pitting and cleaving is noted.
