Description

An old specimen from comprising a botroidal haematite matrix covered in part with scale shaped specularite crystals, with the top side covered in peaks covered with a combination of calcite, dolomite and little translucent brown rhombs of siderite.

The reverse side shows old pasted labels identifying the minerals, in German and once in French.

Siderite was found at only a few of the West Cumbrian locations.
