There was a Green Hill.....

Content image: There was a Green Hill.....

Great news from Thames Valley Minerals; we have just completed the acquisition of the final suites of specimens in the Warren Taylor mineral collection.

Warren (and the Taylor family) have achieved recent fame as the people behind the Rainbow of Africa gemstone collection recently auctioned by Heritage Auctions - see Telegraph article link below.

Prior to the gemstone sale we have been working with Warren as his sole agents since 2007 through the dispersal of his collections of mostly African minerals.

This final lot of approximately 350 specimens contains some very good and interesting pieces from mostly Namibia. Including a majority from Tsumeb, there are suites from Usakos, Abenab, Berg Aukus, Erongo, Onganja, Rossing and others.

The specimen in the header shot is a 84mm wide waterworn malachite outcrop sample collected by C James in c 1901, from the now vanished Green Hill at Tsumeb.

We look forward to bringing you these and other specimens from this collection over the coming months.

We also acquired books and journals plus a mineral stamp collection!
