Oxford Show 27 November 2016

Content image: Oxford Show 27 November 2016

As previously mentioned yesterday's show was dedicated to the memory of Paul Lowe who had organised the show since 1993. It was great to see so many people there.

Paul's children Matt and Emma had arranged some photo tributes to Paul as well as being on hand to talk to people about their Dad. They were brilliant.

One question they were frequently asked was about the continuation of the show in the future. The good news is that this is already in hand and the show will continue and a new organiser is being sought, indeed they were interviewing prospective people at the show.

The other bit of good news is that they want the show to continue in Paul's format; that is for mineral and fossil hobbyists and with very limited other content such as beads and jewelry.

As usual the minerals at the show were excellent and I managed to find some interesting things, but missed quite a lot - so trade must have been quite good as well!

Always great to catch up on the latest news and there was quite a lot!

Really pleased that come next March there will be another show to look forward to, thanks to Matt, Emma and the Lowe family for making yesterday happen. Thanks to Paul for all the good times at Oxford during the last 23 years.
