A feature we have added to the new e-Rocks is a simple "add Mineral photo" posting tool.
We wanted to give all collaborators on the site an option to post mineral photos (without going through a collection/full upload.)
We have a simple quick option that uses all the main cataloguing tools so that added photos are assigned to the database against minerals, locality, collection and copyright owner.
In preparing the site for launch I have been in contact with some notable photographers to get permission to use a selection of photos to start this library off.
Most recently Spanish collector and ace photographer Jose A Soldevilla granted me permission to use some of his pictures in these galleries.
