Imsbach Museum Official Opening

Content image: Imsbach Museum Official Opening

I am sure regular visitors to e-Rocks will remember a few "charity" auctions posted by Roger Lang, Montanpark we ran some months back.

These auctions were run by Roger to raise funds for LED display lighting for his local Mineral Museum at Imsbach, Germany.

Roger has been a volunteer at the Museum for some time and has worked hard with the remodelling project and also with the curation of the minerals on display.

Anyway the project is now completed and the cabinets lit, ahead of an official opening ceremony tomorrow (20th June).

Here below are some of Roger's photographs of the displays, and links to the Museum website with more details about the visitor attraction overall.

Congratulations to Roger, and thanks again (from him) for the money raised for the project along the way.

Wow! First time I see my rocks in the exhibition. I'm really too busy ... Gotta go there soon! Second last picture, lower rows: artichoke quartz from Stromberg, fossil pine cones and a nut from Steinhardt/Bad Sobernheim, a polished chalcedony in basalt and more from Langenthal and a 'zebra stone' from Daxweiler - not far from my place. Many thanks, Roger! Great work!
