Great News from Greenlaws

Content image: Great News from Greenlaws

I was asking Colleen Thomson about the latest from the Greenlaws project at the last Oxford show - she did say that an announcement was imminent and here it is, courtesy of Peter Ward on their Facebook page.

"Hi everyone...

We are delighted to announce that after a 12 month lay-off due to financial constraints, the Greenlaws Project is back on track.

There's a few changes to the team - some new faces, and some sadly leaving: Ian, Mick and Nathan are pursuing other opportunities outside the Project, and the team would like to thank them for all their help in the past - we'll especially miss Ian's hilarious videos of the dig. Volunteers for TV Presenter role are welcomed!

We will have a nice selection of material at Bakewell show on the 10th and 11th October where we will be the only official source of Greenlaws Mine material, and at Munich Show in November, where we are sharing a stand with Gerd Wiedenbeck , helped by Felicity Murphy and Enrico Rinaldi, our European partners.

Our new website will be going live shortly, and will feature a selection of top quality specimens, together with wholesale lots. We hope to announce details of a really interesting research Project soon, which will run in conjunction with exploration activities. Anyone wishing to be a part of this exciting Project is welcome to contact us, especially if you like getting muddy, wet, tired, shifting tonnes of rock, pushing wheelbarrows, heaving great lumps of timber around, or perhaps just taking great photos of the rest of us doing daft things smile emoticon

We'll post more news soon - 'till then, enjoy what's left of summer! Colleen Thomson, Peter Ward, Ross Whittaker, Benjamin Creighton Geoffrey Smith, Sue Westmore, and the rest of the Team... and not forgetting Sooty Grotward !"

Great news indeed - it has been a colossal project deserves all the support it can get.
